Investors in the electric car maker gathered on Thursday to decide on a substantial pay deal for the company's leader worth approximately around $1 trillion. If approved, this deal would signal investor confidence that the billionaire can guide the automaker into an era dominated by artificial intelligence and robotics. Should it fail, Tesla could risk the exit of a visionary leader who previously established the corporation interchangeable with electric vehicles.

Historic Goals and Company Valuation

Should Musk achieve the lofty targets outlined in the remuneration deal revealed at Tesla's annual meeting, he could become the world's first person with a trillion-dollar net worth. To reach this goal, he must lead Tesla to a monumental $8.5 trillion in company worth, which is an eightfold increase its current valuation. Furthermore, he will be obligated to deploy numerous driverless automobiles and advanced androids, while upholding the corporate profits in the massive revenue figures in the upcoming decade.

Compensation Structure

The main goals of the remuneration structure, divided into 12 tranches, delineate a trajectory for Tesla to reach its enormous market capitalization. Should targets be met, Musk would be eligible to benefit from an extra 12% of the corporation's shares. To be eligible, he must remain vested with the firm for at least 7.5 years. Furthermore, he is required to assist in creating a future leadership strategy for the enterprise he has managed for more than 20 years. The equity incentives awarded by the new compensation plan, combined with shares assured in his previous compensation plan, would grant Musk with 25% ownership of Tesla's stock. Ambitious Targets

Reinstating a Rescinded Package

Investors are furthermore considering a proposal that would compensate Musk after his earlier remuneration deal was invalidated by a court in Delaware.
