The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Fighters Table
Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of heroes, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, fiends, and sinister influences growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, striking the character, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the group access locations they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The fighter vowed a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This results in them few options but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
What’s Next?
From the recent installment’s post-show segment, we find out that the combat party will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the participants to assemble the Explorers and Schemers tables.
Viewers can look forward to discovering which adventurers will be in which group in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, streaming live on October 24.
